About two years ago, I helped establish a writers group. We're called TeamLCTFL (for Let's Cross the Finish Line), and we're a bunch of professional writers who are all currently focusing our attention on fiction writing. At this point, nearly all our members are represented by super fantastic literary agents plus a handful of us are on submission with polished manuscripts. One of our authors, Brianne Sommerville, has her first novel hitting stores in March 2024, which is beyond amazing. And our author Mary Taggart has launched #MarysMustRead bookclub, which is featured monthly on Rogers TV in Ottawa plus across the web. It's really been quite a ride.
TeamLCTFL meets monthly online. We have a crazy active Slack workspace where we discuss craft, publishing trends and our progress. Offline, we give each other's work careful readings and constructive critique. We've also compiled resources that we find extremely useful and chronicled exactly how we started our group in case other writers are seeking a roadmap for starting their own.
